Lluvias y ráfagas afectan especialmente el servicio de energía del Gran Santo Domingo Santo Domingo Este-. La Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este (EDE Este) informó que trabaja para restablecer los circuitos afectados por las lluvias y ráfagas de vientos provocados por el huracán Matthew a su paso por el territorio nacional. La Dirección de Comunicación Estratégica detalló que fueron impactados más de 55 de sus circuitos  por este fenómeno natural del Gran Santo Domingo (41), de Monte Plata (7), El Seibo (3), La Altagracia (2), San Pedro de Macorís (1) y Hato Mayor (1).
